Carmen Souza duo Theo Pas'cal
Talented and inexhaustible, Luso-Cape Verdean singer/songwriter, Carmen Souza, releases a Duo CD, "London acoustic set" in November 2011, featuring Theo Pas’cal and, German painter, Jürgen Born on the CD artwork.
Carmen Souza and Theo Pas'cal musical commitment have always come hand in hand with their spiritual commitment and its reflection in the way they give back to the World. In this context, this CD, released worldwide by Galileo, aims to collect funds by donating 50% of royalties to the projects: SOS Children's Villages in Portuguese speaking countries like Cape Verde, Angola, Mozambique & Guinea Bissau; ABRAÇO, an important Portuguese, 20 years old, NPO dealing with HIV issues and a special UNICEF BRAZIL campaign for Childhood without Racism in Brazil. "Being able to help SOS Children’s Villages, ABRAÇO and UNICEF BRAZIL with this project, completes the whole vision for our purpose in making music… to give back for all our blessings" say Carmen Souza. "London acoustic set" is certainly a special way to celebrate a cycle of 10 years of continuous work with Theo Pas'cal: mentor, friend, producer, road and composition companion. Is a unique register of one of her rare concerts in Duo recorded in November 2010, at Green Note, the prestigious World Music Club in London. Also includes two songs recorded at the Liverpool Philharmonic hall in 2010. |

André Cabaço
Born in Maputo, André Cabaço arrived in Portugal in the 80’s, always looking for the perfect combination between his traditional musical roots and his broad range of contemporary skills. His commanding but full-bodied voice together with his original compositional skills were used in a number of musical projects and shows alongside very well-known musicians from Portugal and Brazil. The work we are now presenting is André’s first solo album and can be described as the most important project of his musical life. This work has come together over time and is the result of a wealth of personal and professional experience. Most of the songs are sung in “Ronga”, the language spoken in the Maputo province of Mozambique. Even for those of us who do not understand this language, just by listening to it we can feel a direct connection with nature and with ourselves, our soul and emotions. Using his voice he recreates natural sounds such as birdsong, the wind in the trees, and the sounds of daily activities, festival days and rituals.
